Employment Validation

Service Overview

A confirmation of a candidate's recent employment history, conducted by a verification agent who contacts the previous employer, typically HR, payroll, or a direct manager, by phone.

What's checked?

Whether the candidate was employed by the organization, along with core details: employer name, job title, and employment dates. Where the employer permits, rehire eligibility may also be captured. The scope of information available depends on the employer's internal disclosure policies.

Compensation and pay stubs are not verified, clients may request a pay stub from the applicant, but Trustii does not validate it.

How does it work?

The check is conducted with the candidate's consent and in line with applicable privacy and employment laws.

How it differs from a Work Reference

Employment Validation confirms facts, whether the job existed as described: employer, title, and dates. A Work Reference is a structured qualitative interview with a former manager or colleague that assesses how the candidate performed, covering reliability, work ethic, teamwork, and communication.

When to use it?

Built for confirming that a candidate's work history is accurate, detecting résumé misrepresentation and confirming relevant experience. Faster and simpler than a full reference call, and useful for compliance-heavy roles across HR, safety, and operations.
